About the position

The Seasonal Sales Associate at Navy Exchange is responsible for representing the company and enhancing its reputation through exceptional customer service. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting them in recognizing their needs for products and services, and maintaining a positive store environment. The associate will also be involved in sales activities, inventory management, and ensuring the store's appearance is well-maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage and connect with customers.
  • Ask questions and listen to customers' needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events and promotions.
  • Provide premier customer service and build positive relationships.
  • Maintain store appearance and organization.
  • Cross-sell products and understand the store layout.
  • Make suggestions to customers based on their needs and current promotions.
  • Upsell products and learn about product features and trends.
  • Process transactions using a Point-of-Sales system, including cash handling.
  • Complete inventory processes and ensure merchandise is accurately ticketed.
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule and complete work assignments.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
  • Retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible to business needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
