Baker Tilly is seeking a Customer Support Tax Preparer for a temporary, part-time position starting in January 2025 and concluding on or before April 15, 2025. This role is ideal for individuals with a minimum of two years of professional tax preparation experience who are interested in a seasonal tax position. As a Customer Support Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing individual tax returns and providing support and advice to customers through video, phone, and chat using designated software such as TurboTax. Your primary goal will be to ensure an excellent customer experience by leveraging your expertise in tax preparation, technology troubleshooting, and resolving tax-related issues. In this position, you will prepare tax returns for customers using video-enabled software and chat, ensuring that you deliver accurate tax advice in a manner that is easy for customers to understand. You will assist customers in gathering, organizing, and entering data for their federal and state tax returns, and you will analyze and research various tax matters to determine the best course of action for each customer. Additionally, you will review customer callback and tax accuracy lists, scheduling return calls as necessary to provide further clarification and support. This role requires a friendly and reassuring demeanor, a passion for customer service, and strong communication skills. You should be comfortable interacting with customers over video and chat, and you must have experience with tax preparation technology, as well as the ability to research tax topics using online tools.
