About the position
Cummings Keegan, a mid-sized public accounting firm, is seeking two Seasonal Tax Preparers to join our firm on an annual basis from late January to mid-April. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to individual and privately-held business clients by preparing individual tax returns and performing other accounting services. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, including options for remote or hybrid work, and emphasizes teamwork and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Data entry and analysis.
- Accurate preparation of individual tax returns.
- Organization and review of confidential client materials.
- Workload management to achieve efficiency and quality expectations.
- Collaboration within the department and throughout the firm to accomplish workload.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years of experience preparing individual tax returns in a public accounting setting.
- Knowledge of federal and state individual income tax regulations required.
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or related area of study desired.
- Basic use of UltraTax software, QuickBooks, and Excel preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- CPA license preferred.
- Experience in GAAP accounting preferred.
