About the position
As a Material Handler at Kohl's, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, processing, and movement of merchandise within the warehouse environment. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving and processing merchandise, which encompasses picking, packing, preparing, shipping orders, and handling returns. You will also be responsible for loading and unloading trailers, ensuring that all tasks are completed productively, safely, and accurately according to established production rates, standards, and guidelines. In this position, you will be cross-trained to perform various functions across different departments, which will allow you to support the business and operational needs effectively. This cross-training is essential for maintaining flexibility in your role and adapting to the dynamic requirements of the warehouse environment. You will be expected to input data to prepare reports and provide high-quality internal and external customer service. This includes effective communication with vendors, associates, and various locations to resolve disputes and ensure compliance with company standards. Safety is a top priority in this role. You will be required to follow all company, state, local, and OSHA safety rules, policies, and regulations. Promptly reporting any potential violations to the appropriate supervisor or manager is essential to promote a safe work environment. Additionally, you must comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines, particularly those related to accuracy and productivity. Regular attendance and adherence to the dress code are also important aspects of this position. You will need to maintain a flexible work schedule and be willing to work any designated shift and overtime as requested based on business and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process merchandise, including picking, packing, preparing, shipping orders and returns, and loading and unloading trailers.
- Input data to prepare reports.
- Provide high-quality internal and external customer service, including communicating with vendors, associates, and locations to resolve disputes and review compliance.
- Follow all company, state, local, and OSHA safety rules, policies, and regulations; promptly report any potential violations to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines, including those related to accuracy and productivity.
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as set by the company and comply with dress code requirements.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs.
