About the position

As a SecDevOps Engineer at Peraton, you will play a crucial role in automating and streamlining deployment pipelines while collaborating closely with development teams. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Python, Kubernetes, and Ansible. You will maintain and enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes utilizing GitLab, Jenkins, and other standard SecDevOps tools to ensure a smooth code development, integration, and delivery process. In addition to these responsibilities, you will monitor and troubleshoot system performance to ensure high availability and efficient resource utilization. It is essential to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. You will also contribute to the architecture and design of cloud-based infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, ensuring that security and scalability best practices are adhered to. Your role will involve researching and implementing new technologies and tools to drive continuous improvement in the software delivery process, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing among team members. You will document technical procedures, configurations, and the architecture of deployed solutions, while collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate progress and challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to automate and streamline deployment pipelines.
• Design and develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using Python, Kubernetes, and Ansible.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD processes using GitLab, Jenkins, and other standard SecDevOps tools to ensure smooth code development, integration, and delivery.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization.
• Ensure security best practices are integrated into the development lifecycle, including compliance with data protection regulations.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of cloud-based (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) infrastructure, ensuring security and scalability best practices.
• Research and implement new technologies and tools to drive continuous improvement in the software delivery process.
• Promote a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Document technical procedures, configurations, and the architecture of deployed solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate progress and challenges.

Requirements

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD; minimum 8 years in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.
• Ability to use automation tools such as Python, Powershell, Terraform, Ansible.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to mentor and coach teammates.
• Ability to collaboratively interact with customers including senior management, data scientists, and end users.
• TS/SCI with poly.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with orchestration and containerization tools such as K8s and Docker.
• Experience with virtualization including virtual clusters for processing optimization.
• Familiarity with databases such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Splunk to enhance logging, monitoring, and analytic capabilities.
• Experience with EC2, S3.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
