About the position

The Department of Secondary Education at California State University, Fullerton, is seeking applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Teacher Candidate Supervisor/Clinical Pool. This position is designed for individuals who are experienced and student-centered, particularly in the context of the Single-Subject Credential Program. The role involves supervising and coaching teacher candidates during their clinical practice, which includes observing their teaching at various school sites located primarily in Orange County, with potential observations in parts of Riverside and Los Angeles Counties. Supervisors must be available during school hours, typically from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and must have reliable transportation to reach these sites for observations. Appointments from this part-time pool are temporary and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Therefore, applicants must be prepared to be available on very short notice. The need for part-time faculty is greatest during the Fall and Spring semesters, with the Fall term beginning in late August and concluding in mid-December, and the Spring term running from mid-January through the end of May. On rare occasions, part-time faculty may also be needed during one of the Summer Session segments. The Department of Secondary Education is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive educational environment. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education (JEIE), which is a core value of the College of Education. This commitment is reflected in the department's approach to teaching and mentoring, ensuring that all students are supported in their learning journeys. Regular performance evaluations will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of part-time lecturers, which will influence future teaching assignments.
