About the position
USD 111 Doniphan West Schools has two openings for a secondary English Language Arts Teacher at Doniphan West Jr./Sr. High School for the 2025-2026 school year. Possible classes include 7-12th grade English, Journalism, Yearbook, and Senior Project. Applicants must have a current Kansas Teaching License or be able to obtain a Kansas Teaching License. This position is open until filled. Coaching and other supplemental positions are available.
Responsibilities
- Teach 7-12th grade English, Journalism, Yearbook, and Senior Project classes.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Assess and evaluate student progress and performance.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance student learning.
Requirements
- Current Kansas Teaching License or ability to obtain one.
- Experience in teaching English Language Arts at the secondary level.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with journalism and yearbook production.
- Coaching experience or interest in supplemental positions.
