About the position

The Secondary Marketing Risk Management Associate is responsible for daily position reconciliations, ad hoc reporting, spreadsheet management, and balance sheet risk metrics within the Secondary Marketing infrastructure. This role requires collaboration with traders and risk managers to ensure alignment with policies and procedures, while also driving key initiatives and department strategy independently. The associate will track internal and external risk metrics, including Value at Risk (VaR), and communicate positional and trading risks to various levels of Bank Management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipeline and position reconciliations.
  • Work closely with traders and risk managers to centralize assumptions regarding pricing, trading, and hedging.
  • Manage position, pricing, and trading workbooks in collaboration with the team.
  • Participate in the reporting suite produced by the Secondary Marketing teams.
  • Ensure adherence to the Secondary Marketing Risk Management Policy and associated VaR and P&L thresholds.
  • Establish reports to communicate positional and trading risk to Bank Management and risk stripes.
  • Engage in discussions with Market Risk regarding current status or stages.
  • Provide backup for individuals within the Line of Business (LOB) and create procedures for team members and Bank partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 8-12 years of experience in residential mortgage origination, servicing, operations, and underwriting, including capital markets experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of capital markets, secondary marketing, and product guidelines.
  • Experience with residential mortgage within an OCC/FDIC/Federal Reserve/CFPB US Bank.
  • Understanding of risk management, mortgage trading, hedging, and valuation.
