About the position
Shoshoni School seeks a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our vibrant special education team! There may be an apprenticeship opportunity if specific criteria is met. In this rewarding role, you will work collaboratively with teachers to provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs within a K-12 school setting. You will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and social-emotional growth for all students.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and objectives under the guidance of the special education teacher.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to support students with their academic work.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies.
- Facilitate student participation in classroom activities and encourage social interaction with peers.
- Communicate effectively with teachers and other school staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging attitude that fosters a love of learning.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Pass background check.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Dependability and reliability to ensure consistency for students and teachers.
Benefits
- 9-Month Position (August-May). There is a possibility for this position to extend into the next school year.

- Rate of Pay: $17.00-$21.42/hour (Para Pay) depending on experience
