About the position

The Secret Cleared Information Security Analyst at Tyndall Airforce Base is responsible for identifying and managing vulnerabilities within the network. This role involves coordinating vulnerability scanning, maintaining security tools, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to ensure effective remediation of identified risks. The analyst will also support documentation for system certification and authorization, assess impacts of system modifications, and enhance vulnerability management practices across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the scanning and identification of vulnerabilities associated with hosts connected to the network.
  • Maintain all tools used in scanning and identification of vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to drive remediation efforts.
  • Support the ISSM in defining, creating, and maintaining documentation for certification and authorization of the ADCS system.
  • Manage system vulnerabilities in accordance with security requirements utilizing NIST continuous monitoring standards.
  • Identify and assess specific emergency or priority vulnerabilities and suggest remediation approaches.
  • Analyze vulnerability data and assist with prioritization and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Update and develop security standards and templates to meet new regulatory requirements.
  • Improve the efficacy and efficiency of vulnerability management practices across the enterprise.
  • Coordinate collection of data and documentation in support of examinations/audits.
  • Work with existing solution vendors to identify potential solutions.
  • Research, develop, implement, test, and review information security measures.
  • Gather information to maintain security and establish external barriers such as firewalls.
  • Assess and review systems to identify potential security weaknesses and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 3+ years of experience (7+ years of experience can substitute for degree).
  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019 or newer, including Active Directory, Radius, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Trellix ENS (formerly McAfee Endpoint Security) and Tenable Security Center (ACAS) scans.
  • Familiarity with maintaining and operating SQL server.
  • Experience in applying patches/updates and STIGs.
  • Possess and maintain a minimum of IAT level II certification as per DoD directive 8140.01.
