About the position
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role involves preparing and presenting demonstrations to customers, contributing to a collaborative environment with a team of 10 professionals, including RF, System, Software, and Mechanical Engineers. The team is currently focused on developing lab capabilities to simulate an RF/Satellite system environment, which is critical for the advancement of satellite technology. The Mechanical Engineer will play a vital role in subsystem development for a satellite testbed, supporting analytical work that includes drawing and design tasks. Additionally, the engineer will assist in RF system development and support the assembly, integration, and testing of satellites and satellite testbeds. The position also requires configuring payload designs and implementing hardware solutions, making it essential for the candidate to have a strong background in mechanical engineering and relevant experience in aerospace applications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with subsystem development for a satellite testbed
- Support analytical work including drawing and designs
- Assist with RF system development
- Support assembly integration and test of satellites and satellite testbeds
- Configure payload design and hardware implementation
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience working in aerospace/space hardware design & analysis
- Demonstrated experience using SolidWorks
- Demonstrated experience with GD&T
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or additional years of experience in lieu of degree
- Experience working with RF components/systems
- Experience designing enclosures/structures for RF systems
- Experience supporting assembly, integration, and test of satellites or satellite testbeds
