About the position

The Secretary 9 position serves as a management assistant within the Groundwater and Geological Services Section, Underground Injection Storage and Carbon Management Section, and Administration Section of the Geologic Resource Management Division. This role is responsible for coordinating secretarial and clerical support activities for Section Managers and professional staff, acting as a liaison between the Section Manager and other EGLE staff, and engaging with the public regarding groundwater data and water use assessment programs. This is a limited-term position lasting two years.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate secretarial and clerical support activities for Section Managers and professional staff.
  • Act as a liaison between the Section Manager and other EGLE professional staff.
  • Engage with the public regarding the Groundwater Data Unit and Water Use Assessment Unit Programs.
  • Assist in administrative support practices within the sections.
  • Manage communication and documentation for the sections.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Four years of office experience involving administrative support practices.
  • One year of advanced 8-level administrative support work or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experienced E7-level administrative support work or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public utilities or environmental services.
  • Familiarity with groundwater and geological services.
