About the position

As a Secretary for Career Technical Training at the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR, you will play a vital role in supporting the administrative functions of the organization. You will be expected to maintain a correspondence control log, manage incoming and outgoing mail, and follow up on action items to ensure timely responses. This position is crucial in ensuring that the administrative functions of the center are carried out efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of providing quality services to local youth. The Secretary position offers a full-time schedule with 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, providing a stable work environment. Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of secretarial and clerical duties, including dictation and transcription of correspondence, reports, and other documents.
  • Receive telephone calls and visitors; tactfully refer them to the proper individual if the administrator is not available.
  • Maintain calendar of events, schedules, appointments, and take minutes of meetings.
  • Coordinate meeting arrangements such as time, place, attendees, and matters to be discussed.
  • Maintain correspondence control log, receive incoming and outgoing mail, and follow up on dates for action items.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of work with an acceptable driving record required.
