About The Position

Requirements

  • Completion of or in pursuit of high school diploma or GED.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates independent work initiative and sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clerical experience.
  • Prior experience in a clinical setting if working in a clinical area.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clerical tasks required in preparation of routine correspondence and reports.
  • Assists with projects under general supervision.
  • Handles incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Maintains files and record systems.
  • Performs basic computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Manages the multi-line phone system, answering calls and forwarding messages appropriately.
  • Schedules patients via phone or in person and assists with follow-up appointments.
  • Completes confirmation calls for upcoming appointments for new patients.
  • Resolves items in the work queue daily and scans outside records to medical charts.
  • Maintains the physician call-schedule and records arrival times for emergencies.
  • Scans all hard copy patient records into EPIC media when applicable.
