About The Position

The Secretary position at Brighton High School involves performing administrative and secretarial activities related to the school office. This includes answering phones, greeting visitors, managing student lockers, and overseeing the Master Schedule and State Standardized Assessments. The role also requires compiling and updating data for the Course Offering Guide and course selection sheets, as well as supporting the administration and staff with various tasks such as publishing daily announcements and managing building maintenance requests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in office/secretarial experience and office technology support.
  • CPR/First Aid and AED certification required at hiring.
  • Medication Administration Certificate needed within 1 month of hire.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to administrators, staff, parents, and visitors by answering phones, responding to inquiries, and providing information.
  • Create documents and spreadsheets, perform data entry, manage staff parking, make copies, and send/receive faxes.
  • Serve as a resource to students by answering questions, creating student IDs, and assigning and managing lockers.
  • Collect, prepare, and publish daily announcements to provide students with current pertinent information.
  • Coordinate with Administrator to assist in creating the Master Schedule and update data in Infinite Campus database.
  • Assist counselors with the registration process by compiling and verifying data for course selection sheets and preparing the Course Offering Guide.
  • Implement State and District assessment testing, organize testing materials, schedule, and manage accommodations.
  • Provide secretarial support for special events such as student registration and Parent/Teacher Conferences.
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate work for office aides.
  • Serve as liaison for building maintenance requests and monitor the process.
  • Assist sick/injured students and distribute medication in the absence of Nurse/Health Aide.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
