About the position

The Secretary for Middle School Athletics plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the athletics department within the educational institution. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with essential computer skills and a working knowledge of office equipment. The secretary will be responsible for managing regular office routines, which includes handling telephone communications and maintaining confidentiality regarding student and staff information. In this position, the secretary will provide comprehensive office and clerical support to facilitate the smooth functioning of the athletics department. The secretary will also be tasked with preparing rosters and programs for sports and other activities, ensuring that all information is communicated effectively to participants and patrons. Additionally, the secretary must ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines, promoting continuity within the district. The secretary will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Responsibilities

  • Provide office and clerical support to ensure the smooth operations of the athletics department.
  • React to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner; meeting deadlines as assigned to ensure that all activities are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Schedule appointments, make travel arrangements, and assemble material for meetings to ensure that activities run smoothly.
  • Ensure all activities conform to district guidelines for the purpose of continuity within the district.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with school district staff and community members to ensure an effective work environment.
  • Prepare rosters and programs for sports and other activities, and submit to other schools as needed for the purpose of informing participants and patrons of upcoming events.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal requirements and to maintain a professional work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Requirements
