About the position

As a Secure Hardware System Engineer within Apple's Platform Architecture group, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security of our advanced consumer devices. This position requires a visionary mindset, as you will be responsible for connecting hardware, software, and server elements into a unified system that safeguards personal data. Your primary focus will be on developing threat models that define platform-level security requirements for new products, driving the adoption of security architectures that incorporate various elements, and continuously enhancing the security of Apple products. Your contributions will help instill trust in millions of customers who rely on their devices every day. In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams throughout the product development cycle, addressing system-level issues while maintaining product security and design integrity. You will develop threat models and security architectures for innovative Apple products and technologies, derive system security requirements, and design effective mitigations in collaboration with product and engineering teams. Additionally, you will create detailed system-level specifications to guide product development, integration, and quality assurance teams, ensuring the successful integration of security technologies across team boundaries. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with other security engineers, architects, and researchers across Apple, including software, hardware, silicon, server, and product groups. You will also drive security requirements and architecture into silicon provided by external vendors. Your ability to identify emerging threats and new attack vectors will be crucial as the external landscape evolves, and you will leverage your interpersonal and technical skills to champion the adoption of industry-leading security technologies across multiple product categories.
