About the position

The Secure IT COMSEC Specialist at Janicki Industries is responsible for managing COMSEC operations, ensuring secure communication and computing environments. This role involves providing technical support, maintaining COMSEC equipment, and ensuring compliance with security regulations. The specialist will also assist with training personnel and preparing for inspections, while working closely with various teams to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform COMSEC responsibilities in accordance with applicable publications.
• Act as COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) for all COMSEC matters.
• Identify, research, and resolve technical problems of varying complexity.
• Work with customers to understand requirements and configure COMSEC equipment.
• Maintain hardware labeling and inventory logs.
• Provide user training for personnel handling COMSEC material.
• Maintain COMSEC account files and prepare accounting reports.
• Package and ship COMSEC equipment and materials as needed.
• Conduct semi-annual self-assessments and maintain documentation.
• Support preparation activities for COMSEC inspections and audits.
• Travel to various locations for on-site assistance as needed.
• Provide general IT support and troubleshoot computer hardware and peripherals.

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a related field.
• Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and proficient communication skills in English.
• Proficient in Windows OS and common applications like Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of computer networking and security.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation.

• CompTIA Security+ certification upon hire.
