About the position

Fisher Investments is seeking a Securities Research Analyst to join our Securities Research Group, which plays a crucial role in supporting the portfolio management team that oversees over $250 billion in assets under management (AUM). This position is ideal for finance and research-oriented professionals who have experience in equity research and analysis or capital markets. As a Securities Analyst, you will be responsible for driving portfolio outperformance through timely and impactful coverage of stock holdings across various firm strategies and conducting industry and thematic research for the Investment Policy Committee (IPC). In this role, you will cover specific industries, gaining insights into trends and developments that affect your sector. You will work alongside motivated peers who share a passion for markets, allowing you to cultivate your research and market knowledge. The position offers in-depth training in both quantitative and qualitative skills essential for successful analysts, all within a diverse and supportive environment. You will develop expertise in your assigned sector and understand how emerging trends relate to Fisher Investments' key top-down themes. Reporting to the Securities Research Manager, you will deliver timely and relevant research to the IPC and generate impactful portfolio recommendations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing a comprehensive understanding of our investment philosophy, processes, and portfolio themes. You will build expertise in your assigned sector to analyze how market events impact forward relative returns and help identify industries and stocks likely to outperform selected benchmarks. Participation in Investment Roundtables, Fisher Client Forums, and client/prospect meetings will be part of your role, where you will provide critical commentary to our Private Client Group, Fisher International, and Institutional Group through both written and oral communications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of our investment philosophy, process, portfolio themes and rationales.
  • Build expertise on an assigned sector to understand how market events impact forward relative returns.
  • Develop and hone new and/or existing portfolio themes and views.
  • Provide the Investment Policy Committee (IPC) with regular and ad hoc performance analysis and commentary.
  • Proactively help to identify industries and stocks likely to outperform selected benchmarks.
  • Participate in Investment Roundtables, Fisher Client Forums, and client/prospect meetings.
  • Provide critical commentary to our Private Client Group, Fisher International and Institutional Group via written and oral communications.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in equity research.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with multiple audiences over several platforms.
  • Desire to support client service and sales efforts.
  • Ability to communicate in an actionable, concise, and efficient manner to drive portfolio impact.
  • Intellectual flexibility and drive to rapidly learn and test new ways of thinking, doing and communicating.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Likes working with data to derive fact-based insights.
