About the position

The Security Alarm Technician will be responsible for maintaining and servicing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) in federal facilities. This role involves installing security devices, conducting system tests, and providing end-user training, all while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The technician will work as part of a specialized team dedicated to modernizing and securing critical government installations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and service work of existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) including access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems.
• Install security devices and infrastructure according to installation plans and national electric code.
• Assist with security system programming and setup.
• Conduct testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs.
• Test systems to the signal-receiving center to establish service.
• Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from supervisor.
• Conduct end-user training on security systems.
• Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries and damage to property.

Requirements

• Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and/or industrial integrated/electronic security systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational product manuals.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Capable of using hand and power tools to mount and secure equipment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
• Active Department of Defense Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency working with commercial and/or industrial camera systems.
• Experience with Bosch, MDI, and/or American Dynamics.
