About the position

The Security Analyst role at Apogee focuses on monitoring, responding to, and mitigating security threats within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, particularly in the higher education sector. The position requires collaboration with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and other teams to ensure the security and integrity of client networks and systems. This is a remote position with a competitive salary range based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the environment for security breaches and respond to detected threats and vulnerabilities.
• Act as the point person for security incidents, providing leadership in investigations and response.
• Perform risk assessments on client networks and systems, recommending effective mitigation strategies.
• Manage and maintain security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Promote a culture of security awareness among NOC and other teams.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (OWASP, CIS, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Proven track record of leading incident response in partnership with NOC teams.
