In the role of Security Analytics Engineer L4, you will be part of a team that leverages data to enhance consumer product security. The team focuses on two primary objectives: providing insights into the effectiveness of security measures across products and building intelligence to combat fraud at scale. The types of fraud addressed include device compromise, content piracy, and service abuse. This position requires a proactive approach to security metrics and data solutions aimed at detection and prevention within the fraud landscape. Your responsibilities will include driving insights and discovering fraud within Netflix's ecosystem by understanding the infrastructure and products, identifying high-risk areas, and implementing changes to anomaly detection and product experiences. You will utilize your expertise in security and fraud prevention to analyze patterns, identify new signals, and recommend adjustments that impact both customers and Netflix. This role is crucial in developing data-driven insights that influence device and product security strategies, tracking anomalous request patterns, and analyzing error logs to quantify potential vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will build dashboards to communicate insights to a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring that security measures are effectively integrated into the Netflix ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Drive insights and discovery of fraud in the Netflix ecosystem by understanding infrastructure and product.
  • Identify high-risk areas and drive changes to anomaly detection and product experiences.
  • Leverage security and fraud prevention expertise to analyze patterns and identify new signals.
  • Compile and track anomalous request patterns and identify potential mitigations.
  • Plan and recommend changes to increase the security of device and content.
  • Analyze error logs to quantify potential device-level vulnerabilities.
  • Develop characterizations of request attributes across a diverse device and client ecosystem to quantify potential automation.
  • Build insights into security and identity of the Netflix device ecosystem and develop dashboards for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Passionate about protecting customers and products.
  • Familiarity with various aspects of fraud and abuse types, including device compromise, DRM compromise, or content piracy.
  • Experience with analytics tools such as SQL (Presto, SparkSQL, Python) and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in varying contexts and environments.
