About the position

The Senior Cybersecurity Architect will play a pivotal role in the Cybersecurity Team, providing expert-level strategic planning and technical solutions for a government customer. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to develop secure technical solutions that meet business needs while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies and standards. The role requires a strong understanding of both classified and unclassified information systems and networks, and it emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and innovation in cybersecurity practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert level strategic planning to develop technical solutions for cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate closely with customer personnel to ensure solutions meet site-specific requirements.
  • Work with Project Managers to develop and execute cybersecurity and IT projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to teams within the organization.
  • Interview stakeholders to identify and collect requirements for cybersecurity solutions.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of Security Architecture documents and artifacts.
  • Design secure solutions for enterprise, enclave, and local-level information systems.
  • Support the strategic technical vision for the customer organization.
  • Create, analyze, and improve effectiveness of business and engineering processes.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge-base of emerging threats and technologies.
  • Participate in Engineering Review activities and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Support the development and updating of Cybersecurity and IT policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, IT, Systems Administration, Network Architecture, Systems Development, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or related area, or substitute with 4 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Current Q or Active Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of architecture standards and patterns.
  • Experience designing, architecting, or implementing complex enterprise systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking systems and architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft O/S and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux O/S and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge with cloud architectures and systems and security approaches.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current Q or Active Top-Secret Clearance (preferred).
  • Experience architecting and/or engineering data pipelines, ETL processes, and data storage systems.
  • Working knowledge of architecture frameworks and standards used in Federal Government IT and security operations.
  • Experience working in classified or highly secured IT networks and environments.
  • Standard Information Assurance industry certifications (e.g., GSEC, CISSP, CISM).
  • Knowledge of intrusion analysis, digital forensics, incident response, and incident management.
