About the position

As a SECURITY CLEARED - CIVIL ENGINEER, you will be an integral part of a prominent firm specializing in Defence, Nuclear, and Marine industries. This role is designed for a professional who possesses an active security clearance and is ready to engage in a 12-month contract that offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £60. You will be tasked with working on multi-discipline infrastructure system designs, ensuring that the overall sustainment capability is met through your technical design guidance and review of civil design packages. Your role will also involve ensuring that all staff and contractors are well-informed about the hazards and risks associated with the projects you oversee. In this position, you will be expected to apply your knowledge of civil engineering, particularly in a marine environment, to various projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting swept path analysis, designing roads and hardstandings, and managing miscellaneous foundations such as lighting and bollards. Additionally, you will be involved in marine remedial civil repairs, which will require a keen understanding of the specific challenges associated with marine engineering. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical design guidance and review of civil design packages.
  • Work on multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to ensure overall sustainment capability.
  • Ensure staff and contractors are familiar with hazards and risks associated with projects.
  • Conduct swept path analysis for infrastructure projects.
  • Design roads and hardstandings as part of civil engineering projects.
  • Manage miscellaneous foundations including lighting and bollards.
  • Oversee marine remedial civil repairs.

Requirements

  • Active Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
  • Experience in Civil Engineering, preferably in a marine environment.
  • Knowledge of ducts and networks in civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in swept path analysis.
  • Experience in designing roads and hardstandings.
  • Familiarity with miscellaneous foundations such as lighting and bollards.
  • Experience in marine remedial civil repairs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
  • Completion of a Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent nuclear knowledge.
