About the position

The Security Clerk position at the Department of the Navy involves assisting in the execution of Access Control for Navy Information Forces (NAVIFOR) and subordinate activities. This role is critical in maintaining security protocols and ensuring compliance with regulations governing access control and visitor requests. The position is a term appointment, requiring a Top Secret security clearance and participation in a drug testing program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in checking DISS and validating accesses.
• Support conference planning and vetting attendees.
• Manage the security desk operations.
• Research and maintain security data for the access control program.
• Present training and answer command questions regarding policies and procedures.
• Liaise with watch-standers and personnel throughout NAVIFOR.
• Collaborate with personnel in related fields to discuss security concerns.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.
• Must acknowledge acceptance of an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service).
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
