About The Position

The Security Coordinator (3rd Shift) is responsible for overseeing security operations within the Security Operations Center, ensuring the safety and security of various facilities across the City of Austin and Travis County. This role involves supervising security staff, operating physical access control and surveillance systems, and responding to security incidents. The position requires working during the night shift, providing essential services to maintain secure operations for the utility.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of experience providing security services in a Security Operations Center environment, with two (2) years in a lead capacity.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a 24/7 Security Operation Center (SOC).
• Experience leading and supervising security guard or patrol officers.
• Experience with Physical Access Control Systems like Picture Perfect, Facility Commander, and OnGuard.
• Experience developing and enforcing security procedures.
• Experience conducting Security guard training including Physical Security Access Control systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate the 24/7 physical access control and surveillance system.
• Supervise internal and external security staff at various facilities.
• Respond to and investigate disturbances on-site and at remote properties.
• Facilitate police and emergency response at Austin Energy sites.
• Patrol electric utility substations and critical infrastructure.
• Meet and provide access to law enforcement agencies as needed.
• Attend and produce training and meetings to meet utility needs.
• Ensure security staff is present and performing their duties at all facilities.
