The Dispatcher/Operator position at First Response Security is an entry-level role focused on providing essential communication and support in emergency situations. The dispatcher is the first point of contact for community members, responsible for processing alarm signals, dispatching response personnel, and ensuring the safety and well-being of others. This role requires a dedication to service, empathy, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Electronically process medical, burglary, and life safety alarm signals and dispatch them to appropriate response personnel.
  • Monitor and accurately record the time that all calls are received, dispatched, and the status of officers.
  • Monitor two public radio channels for officers in need of assistance and act as a standby for any issues.
  • Ensure that all on-site officers have logged in at their appropriate sites and are on time by monitoring Portland's Employee 3000 line.
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls and transfer calls according to documentation provided by the caller.
  • Provide hourly status checks for on-site security officers.
  • Complete and assist with any special projects or directives from the Central Station Manager.
  • High school diploma or GED
