About the position

The Security Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated properties and personnel. This role involves monitoring activities, responding to incidents, and managing access control through various security devices. The dispatcher will also handle emergency and non-emergency calls, maintain communication with security personnel, and prepare necessary reports.

Responsibilities

• Provides effective access control to property entrances including vehicle and personnel entrances.
• Challenges personnel who do not have proper access.
• Processes visitors, guests, and vendors.
• Operates access control gates remotely.
• Monitors the facility using closed circuit television (CCTV).
• Monitors access control system devices and conducts basic troubleshooting.
• Prevents unauthorized access and controls parking as required.
• Makes notifications per established procedures.
• Maintains effective communications during normal duties and incidents.
• Checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons.
• Prepares logs or reports as required for patrol route.
• Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to supervisors and public safety authorities.
• Provides investigative support and handles confidential information.
• Monitors and verifies property removal from the facility.
• Answers phones and operates an IP-based telephone system.
• Utilizes closed circuit television for situational awareness and threat management.
• Receives and responds to emergency and non-emergency calls from various sources.
• Ensures all systems are functioning properly and processes information received from all sources.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Preferably two (2) years of physical security experience, or six (6) months in a manufacturing environment, or one (1) year in law enforcement or armed forces.
• College credits in relevant fields can supplement experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred experience in access control software.
• Preferred experience in closed circuit television software.
