About the position

The Security Dispatcher at Wind Creek Chicago Southland serves as the communication hub for the casino, facilitating interactions between security officers and various departments. This role is crucial for ensuring safety and security within the facility, requiring a high level of customer service and the ability to manage multiple communication channels effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and radio messages for various reasons including medical/EMT responses and emergency situations.
  • Control the radio net and direct responses according to procedures.
  • Screen all non-team members and verify authorization for entry into back-of-house (BOH).
  • Ensure visitors and vendors sign in/out and issue/retrieve temporary badges.
  • Verify that all team members, vendors, or others are authorized to enter the facility.
  • Operate various computer applications and functions.
  • Monitor multiple radios and phones from different internal departments.
  • Receive messages and direct message intent according to procedures.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras for security purposes.
  • Accept and log lost and found items, including those from hotel rooms.
  • Maintain fleet vehicles, control keys, and record required entries on the activity log.
  • Monitor alarms on the annunciation panel and notify appropriate personnel according to procedures.
  • Coordinate with EMS, local law enforcement, managers, security officers, and the general population during emergencies.
  • Maintain good organizational skills and make records of events and activities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled in a GED program with completion within six months from start date.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • One (1) year experience in law enforcement, corrections, or other security dispatch capacity preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word; must achieve at least 70% on a skills test.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; must achieve at least 70% on a skills test.
  • Participation in a panel interview and realistic job preview required.
  • Experience in customer relations or guest services is preferred.
  • Must complete/pass BASSET and Title#31 training as a condition of employment.
