About the position

The AWS Security team is seeking a Security Engineer to design and validate security controls for applications and services, ensuring they meet the highest security standards. This role involves analyzing security issues, building automation, and mitigating threats throughout the secure development life-cycle (SDLC). Responsibilities

• Conduct security reviews for new products, technologies, and services
• Implement secure design and architecture practices
• Apply secure development life-cycle (SDLC) practices including threat modeling and security testing
• Influence decision-makers to maintain high security standards
• Perform network and application penetration testing
• Create security guidance and documentation
• Develop security tools and automation
• Deliver security training and outreach to internal teams
• Lead security projects with end-to-end ownership
• Support mentoring, team building, and recruiting activities

Requirements

• 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object-oriented languages
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, and network security
• Experience with AWS products and services
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
