About the position

As a Security Engineer II in Amazon's Stores Application Security team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of various software projects. This position involves collaborating with software development teams to identify and mitigate security risks, conducting secure code reviews, and developing security automation tools. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to effectively influence and guide teams towards secure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Creating, updating, and maintaining threat models for a wide variety of software projects
• Conducting manual and automated secure code reviews, primarily in Java, Python, and JavaScript
• Developing security automation tools
• Performing adversarial security analysis using cutting-edge tools to augment manual efforts
• Providing security training and outreach for internal development teams
• Offering security architecture and design guidance
• Independently solving security problems that require novel methods or approaches
• Influencing team and partner processes, priorities, and choices to improve outcomes

Requirements

• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with at least two of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, penetration testing, cloud security, mobile security, and network security

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or equivalent
• Strong communication skills
