About the position

As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a critical role in one of the world's most iconic financial institutions where security is paramount. You will be a seasoned member of a team dedicated to delivering software solutions that not only meet predefined functional and user requirements but also incorporate robust security measures to prevent misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. Your responsibilities will include executing security solutions design, development, and technical troubleshooting, leveraging your knowledge of existing security solutions to fulfill security requirements for internal clients, including product, platform, and application owners. In this role, you will create secure and high-quality production code while maintaining algorithms that operate synchronously with appropriate systems. You will utilize specialized tools, such as vulnerability scanners, to analyze and correlate incident data, identifying, interpreting, and summarizing the probability and impact of threats to determine specific vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will lead the delivery of continuity-related awareness, training, educational activities, and exercises, contributing to a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Your expertise will be essential in carrying out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit-defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions, all in support of the firm's overarching business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Executes security solutions design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Applies specialized tools (e.g., vulnerability scanner) to analyze and correlate incident data to identify, interpret, and summarize the probability and impact of threats when determining specific vulnerabilities.
  • Leads delivery of continuity-related awareness, training, educational activities, and exercises.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
  • Experience developing security engineering solutions.
  • Experience with resilient, highly available, high-throughput web applications/services.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages, particularly Java.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, applicant resiliency, and security.
  • Strong understanding of Application and Cloud Security fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working experience building containerized applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Serverless workloads in AWS.
  • Experience building high-load, low-latency, mission-critical distributed systems.
  • Experience leading DevOps transformation.
  • Understanding of Cryptography and Data Protection techniques.
  • Additional languages such as Python.
