About the position

Meta's Product Security team is seeking security interns to focus on various areas of software security, including web, mobile, and native security. The role involves providing guidance and tooling to engineering and product teams to minimize security and privacy risks for over 3 billion users. Interns will engage in security reviews, developer education, and the development of automated analysis tools to enhance the security of Meta's products.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual design and implementation reviews of products and services within the Meta ecosystem.
• Provide guidance and education to developers to prevent the authoring of vulnerabilities.
• Build automation (static and dynamic analysis) and frameworks with software engineers to scale security practices across all products.
• Research, develop, and apply mitigations to products to prevent vulnerabilities from being exploited.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience with exploiting common security vulnerabilities.
• Experience finding vulnerabilities in interpreted languages (C, C++, PHP, Ruby, Python) and knowledge of secure code development.
• Proven project management and execution skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to identify key areas of focus and drive results.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Intent to return to full-time degree program after completion of the internship.
• Experience writing software that enables security processes.
• Contributions to the security community (public research, blogging, presentation, open source, etc.)
