About the position

The Product Security Engineer role at Zoom is designed for an experienced professional with a strong background in product security and applied cryptography. This position involves designing secure solutions, leading security initiatives, and addressing privacy challenges while providing expertise in cryptographic system implementation. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who excels in problem-solving and collaboration across various teams to ensure security and privacy requirements are integrated into product design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing the design, architecture, and implementation of security solutions for our products, ensuring the highest security standards are met.
• Providing guidance and subject matter expertise in the design, implementation, and validation of cryptographic systems to engineering teams across the company.
• Staying updated and ensuring adherence to security best practices including OWASP Top 10 and evolving cryptographic standards and guidelines.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all stages of product development.
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks in applications.
• Driving security initiatives across the organization, promoting an important culture of security awareness.
• Staying current with emerging product security trends, tools, and best practices with a focus on cryptography.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product security, with advanced knowledge of cryptographic system implementations and secure product development.
• Expertise in addressing security and privacy issues and proper use of cryptographic functions.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and protocols and of security frameworks such as OWASP Top 10.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
