About the position

The Security Engineer - Threat Detection at Obsidian Security is responsible for analyzing and researching identity threats and emerging risks in modern SaaS platforms. This role involves leading the evolution of detection pipelines and core detection logic to enhance the security of customers' SaaS environments. The engineer will work innovatively to drive positive change across teams, focusing on effective threat detection and response.

Responsibilities

• Perform threat modeling and design effective threat detection rules and models to uncover identity compromise.
• Build and maintain the data pipeline to facilitate core detection logic, ensuring high reliability, efficacy, and efficiency.
• Research and build threat intelligence capabilities to enrich the product offering.
• Drive positive product outcomes through cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, marketing, and other teams.
• Conduct on-demand threat-hunting operations in complex SaaS environments and drive product innovation in threat detection.

Requirements

• Passionate about cybersecurity.
• Experience in detection engineering and leading analysis of large datasets for threat detection.
• Experience applying machine learning models in the threat detection problem space.
