About the position

The Security Engineering Manager for Stores Application Security at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for leading and managing a high-performance team of security engineers and technical program managers. This role focuses on application security, ensuring the safety and privacy of Amazon's services through effective security assessments, threat modeling, and secure design reviews. The manager will drive strategic initiatives, foster a collaborative team culture, and enhance operational efficiency through the adoption of security processes and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Security Engineers and Technical Program Managers responsible for Application Security.
  • Set the strategic direction and evolution of the Application Security review team, including establishing goals and priorities.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and influence leadership and key stakeholders across Amazon.
  • Develop a healthy and collaborative team culture to enable results delivery.
  • Facilitate effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration across multiple groups with competing priorities.
  • Implement improvements to internal programs and processes.
  • Write and deliver high-quality documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Drive the adoption of security processes, automation, and tooling to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing high-performance teams.
  • 3+ years of experience within a software security team or similar environment with a focus on application security assessment methodologies.
  • BA/BS in computer science, information security, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review, threat modeling, secure code review, risk analysis, and penetration testing.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages (Java, Python, Perl, Scala, etc.).
  • Experience with vulnerability risk and impact assessment.
  • Experience in driving large, cross-organization initiatives.
