About the position

The position is responsible for maintaining a secure environment for all residents and associates within the building and on the community grounds. This includes greeting visitors, monitoring the inside and outside of the building, and responding to emergencies. The individual will be tasked with logging all residents and visitors in and out, ensuring that security protocols are followed, and reporting any abnormal findings to the Executive Director or appropriate authorities. Regular checks of the security of all doors will be conducted, and the individual will lock doors at designated times according to community protocol. Familiarity with emergency and safety equipment, including security cameras and life safety systems, is essential. In the event of an emergency, the individual must respond appropriately by contacting the necessary internal and external parties as per established protocols. This role may also involve assisting with disaster management efforts during evacuations, such as fires or hurricanes. The position requires answering the phone promptly, responding to inquiries, directing calls, or taking messages as needed. Additionally, the individual may escort residents and visitors to the parking lot during evening hours and handle leasing inquiries after hours and on weekends, ensuring accurate information is provided to the Director of Sales & Marketing. The role may also involve driving the community vehicle as needed, handling minor maintenance emergencies, and ensuring that the lobby and administrative offices are kept clean and neat. Interacting with residents and guests in a friendly and courteous manner is crucial, as is providing assistance and directions as requested. Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure environment for all residents and associates within the building and on the community grounds.
  • Greet visitors and monitor residents coming and going from the building.
  • Log all residents and visitors in and out of the building.
  • Monitor the inside and outside of the building and the parking lot; report any abnormal findings to the Executive Director or proper authorities.
  • Lock doors at designated times according to community protocol.
  • Check the security of all doors regularly throughout the night.
  • Maintain familiarity with and monitor all emergency and safety equipment including security cameras, phones, and life safety systems.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies by contacting appropriate internal and external parties according to established protocol.
  • Assist with disaster management efforts during evacuations (i.e. fires, hurricanes, etc.).
  • Answer the phone promptly and respond to questions, direct calls, or take messages as appropriate.
  • Escort residents and visitors to the parking lot during evening hours as requested.
  • Handle leasing inquiries after hours and on weekends, providing accurate information to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Drive the bus or community vehicle as needed or scheduled.
  • Handle minor maintenance emergencies (i.e. plugged toilets, reset breakers, replace light bulbs, etc.) as needed.
  • Ensure the lobby and administrative offices are vacuumed and kept clean and neat; notify housekeeping if cleaning is needed.
  • Interact with residents and guests in a friendly and courteous manner, providing assistance and directions as requested.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a secure environment for residents and associates.

  • Knowledge of emergency and safety equipment and protocols.
