About the position

The Security Install Technician plays a crucial role in the installation and programming of Integrated Security systems for commercial customers. This position involves working on-site to ensure the proper setup of fire and security systems, while also providing excellent customer service and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install appropriate devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required by customers or Tyco Integrated Security.
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries and damage to property, and clean up installation debris.
  • Contact customers prior to scheduled installation to verify the schedule.
  • Prepare estimates according to prescribed instructions or supervisor directions.
  • Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Test the operation of the system to the signal-receiving center to establish service properly.
  • Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and handle necessary records for emergency call notifications.
  • May manage installation teams on larger projects.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some technical school training is a plus.
  • 3+ years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate fleet vehicle safely at all times.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Fire Burglary CCTV Access Controls License for Oklahoma State.
