About the position

SOSi is seeking a Security Manager to join our team supporting our operations in Reston, VA. This position is contingent upon contract award. The Security Manager will act as a liaison between the company and multiple customer agencies, ensuring effective communication regarding status checks and the submission of required security documentation. The role involves preparing and submitting e-QIP case files for initial personnel security investigations and periodic reinvestigations, as well as providing advice and assistance to employees in preparing security documents via e-QIP. Additionally, the Security Manager will prepare and submit derogatory information reports and utilize various internal and government security databases, including DISS, to maintain oversight of personnel security processes. This includes quality control in the processing of all employees, consultants, and subcontractors, as well as issuing security badges for access to the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between the company and multiple customer agencies for status checks and submission of required security documentation.
  • Prepares and submits e-QIP case files for initial personnel security investigations and periodic reinvestigations.
  • Gives advice and assistance to employees preparing security documents via e-QIP.
  • Prepares and submits derogatory information reports.
  • Uses multiple internal and government security databases to include DISS.
  • Performs oversight of personnel security processes to include quality control in the processing of all employees, consultants, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Active in scope Secret clearance for access to classified information.
  • Associate's degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the Industrial Security field or related position.
  • Experienced in handling personal and confidential information and show a strong orientation for customer service and organization.
  • Understanding of U.S. Government suitability requirements.
  • Must possess a customer focus, tactful attitude, and attention to detail.
  • Possess experience in industrial security and basic knowledge of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Experience with the use of DISS and e-QIP are a must.
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and staff management skills.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors Degree in related field.
  • Experience with DHS suitability process is preferred.
