About the position

We are seeking a Security Network Engineer to join our team located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity in the cybersecurity industry. As a Security Network Engineer, you will manage infrastructure vulnerability, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with IT and security operations to identify and resolve system and application vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the vulnerability data repository and conduct regular vulnerability scans.
  • Perform detailed vulnerability analysis and provide remediation recommendations.
  • Collaborate with IT and security operations to manage internal and external systems, identifying, tracking, and remediating system and application vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct continuous discovery, vulnerability assessment, and remediation status of enterprise-wide assets.
  • Generate detailed reports and metrics to track vulnerability assessment findings and remediation progress, providing insights to stakeholders.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of processes, playbooks, and run books for vulnerability management practices.
  • Monitor vulnerabilities within endpoints, databases, networking, mobile, and cloud services.
  • Utilize cybersecurity compliance skills to maintain system safety and security.
  • Leverage tools such as Qualys & Rapid7 to remediate threats and vulnerabilities on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Support IT operations in their responsibility to remediate system and application vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Network Vulnerability and Security Vulnerability assessment and management is crucial
  • Experience with Rapid7 and Qualys vulnerability management platforms is required
  • Strong knowledge of Cybersecurity compliance regulations and standards
  • Ability to design, implement, and manage secure network architectures
  • Strong analytical skills to identify security threats and develop solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address security incidents and breaches
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and explain complex security concepts clearly
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) would be advantageous
  • Ability to stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and mitigation techniques.
