About the position
The Security Officer at Lutheran Downtown Hospital is responsible for performing routine security duties to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires adherence to the highest standards of security practices and compliance with departmental and administrative policies. The Security Officer will engage in various activities aimed at maintaining safety, including monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary. In addition to routine patrols and monitoring, the Security Officer will be involved in the investigation of incidents, documenting occurrences, and reporting findings to the appropriate authorities. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in health care security or law enforcement preferred.
- Associates degree in Criminal Justice or higher is preferred or currently enrolled with completion in 2 years in lieu of experience.
- Valid state Driver's License required.
- CPR (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 90 days of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in security services is a plus.
