The Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City is seeking a dedicated and energetic Security Officer to join our team in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment within the hotel, adhering to established standards while performing your duties. You will be responsible for enforcing hotel rules and policies with respect and professionalism, resolving conflicts using de-escalation techniques, and accurately analyzing situations to implement effective courses of action. Your responsibilities will include clearly communicating incident details to management, creating accurate incident and accident reports, and identifying and investigating suspicious behavior. You will conduct foot patrols of designated areas, respond to alarms and requests for assistance, and provide aid during medical emergencies while relaying information to emergency medical services (EMS). Additionally, you will utilize CCTV systems for investigations and surveillance, demonstrating a positive team mindset to help other departments achieve customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for hospitality and physical security, demonstrating trustworthiness, dependability, and emotional maturity. You will be required to work a flexible schedule, including morning, afternoon, overnight shifts, and weekends or holidays as needed. Responsibilities

  • Provide safety and security for hotel guests and colleagues.
  • Enforce hotel rules and policies with respect and professionalism.

  • Respond to medical emergencies, render aid, and relay information to EMS.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Security.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Utah Driver's License.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including morning, afternoon, overnight shifts with weekend and holiday availability.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Capacity to adhere to established dress code and grooming standards.
  • Be of good moral character and pass a thorough background investigation.
  • Refined understanding of the principles of Customer Service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in dynamic situations.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with 2-Way Radio usage and etiquette.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or must obtain within first 90 days of employment.
  • Certified Lodging Security Officer (CLSO) certification required or must obtain within first 120 days of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous Security, Military, or Emergency Services experience preferred.
