About the position

As a Security Officer at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors. Under the direction and supervision of the Security Department's chain of command, you will perform a variety of security services that involve direct interaction with the public, patients, and employees. Your responsibilities will include providing security at designated locations, responding to security issues, assisting with access requests, and reporting any suspicious circumstances or emergencies. You will be tasked with protecting specific areas to ensure the safety of all individuals and property associated with AdventHealth. In this role, you will be expected to perform all security-related tasks as assigned by your Supervisor, keeping them informed of any unusual activities or events. You will acknowledge and respond to alarms, determine their source, and provide the necessary assistance. Maintaining effective communication with Supervisors, fellow Security Officers, and the Security Operations Center is essential for reporting irregularities and obtaining further instructions. You will document all crimes, incidents, and safety-related irregularities in accordance with department policy and procedure, demonstrating good judgment during critical situations while maintaining a professional demeanor. Your ability to assess situations with consideration for the age of individuals involved will be vital. You will gather information related to incidents such as thefts and accidents, ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately and in the correct format. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • BLS through American Heart Association preferred
