About the position

The Security Officer I Relief at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for providing security services to ensure the safety of the public, patients, employees, and property. This role involves interacting with various stakeholders, responding to security issues, and maintaining a secure environment under the supervision of the Security Department's chain of command.

Responsibilities

• Perform security services through interaction with the public, patients, and employees.
• Provide security at specific locations and respond to security issues.
• Assist with access as requested and report suspicious circumstances and emergencies.
• Document all crimes, incidents, and safety-related irregularities per department policy and procedure.
• Acknowledge and respond to alarms, determining their source and providing proper assistance.
• Maintain communication with Supervisors and fellow Security Officers to report irregularities and obtain further instructions.
• Exhibit good judgment during critical situations and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Assess situations considering the age of individuals involved and gather information pertaining to incidents.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• BLS through American Heart Association preferred
