About the position

The Security Officer I position at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital involves assisting employees with inquiries related to personnel badges and parking hangtags, providing excellent customer service, and performing patrol duties as needed. The role is essential for maintaining security and ensuring proper access control within the hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Issue all personnel badges and parking hangtags for hospital employees using the security Access Control System.
  • Assist employees with creating or resetting ID Badge Personal PIN, Fingerprinting for Biometric Enrollment, and adding Biometric Access to employee's profile.
  • Provide support for employees with inquiries or issues concerning ID badges, parking hangtags, or bike decals.
  • Assist HR with new hire orientation by preparing badges, hangtags, and taking photos for new hires.
  • Assist with the termination of employees in accordance with company policy, including deactivating ID badges and shredding deactivated items.
  • Process parking violations as needed.
  • Perform other security-related duties, including foot and vehicle patrols, emergency response, VIP transportation services, and security escorts.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 6 months prior experience in a security program, police organization, military branch, or conflict counseling is required.
  • Experience in data entry and working in emergency situations and fast-paced stressful environments.
  • Valid driver's license from the employee's state of residence and be insurable by St. Jude's insurance carrier may be required.
  • Must attain Licensed Security Guard/Officer certification for the State of Tennessee within 60 days of employment.
