About the position

The Security Officer IV is a senior-level position responsible for providing complex security services within a healthcare environment. This role involves patrolling hospital grounds, conducting investigations, and assisting patients, staff, and visitors. The officer supports the Security Supervisor in achieving departmental goals and objectives, while also performing temporary switchboard duties and participating in disaster response activities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol hospital grounds to monitor and mitigate unusual occurrences such as trespassers, vandalism, and emergencies.
  • Monitor and direct daily activities and work performance of junior security officers as needed.
  • Adjust daily activities of security officers assigned to shift to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Provide security to the hospital campus and assist visitors as needed.
  • Inspect and safeguard buildings, properties, and equipment.
  • Write reports and document incidents or events in and around the hospital grounds.
  • Download video requests from the Rights Protection department.
  • Perform temporary switchboard duties as requested, including answering phone calls and managing emergency response lines.
  • Check points of ingress and egress to prevent unauthorized departures/escapes.
  • Investigate and document unusual incidents such as thefts, fire, vehicle accidents, and weather-related events.
  • Perform administrative duties in the absence of the Security Supervisor, such as preparing the department schedule and reviewing reports.

Requirements

  • Experience in security services or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations effectively.
