About the position

The Security Officer Level 1 (L1) at NTT DATA is an entry-level position responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of the Data Center's physical infrastructure, equipment, and personnel. Under the direction of the Security Supervisor, the officer will manage access control, monitor CCTV systems, respond to incidents, and complete written reports. This role requires clear communication and collaboration with various departments to maintain a secure environment for clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all individuals on company property have proper identification.
• Patrol assigned areas to maintain visibility and observe unusual activity.
• Provide a safe and professional work environment for clients and personnel.
• Investigate and report security, maintenance, and safety conditions.
• Complete daily administrative documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain assigned equipment in functional and presentable condition.
• Assist personnel with requests and complete various assignments as required.
• Assist with Shipping and Receiving tasks.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with local emergency management resources.
• Investigate and report incidents such as fires, evacuations, and hazardous situations.
• Maintain familiarity with security procedures and company policies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.
• Experience with access control systems, CCTV systems, and photo ID systems preferred.
• Possession of relevant certifications such as Certified Security Guard (CSG) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO).
• Strong observational and surveillance skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies and work in a process-driven team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional education or training in security-related fields is a plus.
• Experience in a data center environment.
