The Security Officer position at MultiCare is a part-time role focused on ensuring the safety and security of patients, employees, and visitors within the healthcare facilities. Responsibilities

• Conduct general security in the protection of people and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
• Deter criminal activity and misconduct utilizing tactical techniques.
• Utilize Management of Aggressive Behavior skills both verbally and physically as required.
• Apply the concepts of Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, Escape to effectively protect and serve facility campus.
• Utilize weapons detection devices to monitor patients/visitors, ensuring the removal of contraband from the facility.
• Apply appropriate techniques with assistive devices when engaging with combative/aggressive individuals.
• Effectively operate/leverage required security equipment and tools.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current Washington or Idaho state driver's license.
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire date.
• Minimum six (6) months of experience in police, military, or security, preferably in a health care setting.
• Proof of a safe driving record obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state.
• Current BLS Certification, or obtained within 7 days of hire.
