About the position
The Security Officer Trainer is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, facilitating, and presenting training programs aimed at ensuring high-quality security personnel for the accounts supported by the Branch Office. This role involves onboarding new hires, maintaining personnel records, and conducting various training sessions, including initial and ongoing training for security officers and supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct all instructor-led training for security personnel, including Initial Security Officer Training (ISOT) and annual In-Service Training.
- Participate as a subject-matter expert to provide updates to training content and inform management of new training requirements.
- Work with HR and Operations teams to communicate licensing and training requirements, including scheduling new-hire training classes.
- Mentor new employees during training periods and report on their progress to management.
- Maintain training, licensing, and compliance records in the Learning Management System.
- Support recruiting activities and deliver onboarding paperwork to new employees.
- Oversee uniform orders and maintain uniform room cleanliness and inventory.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; some college education or business classes desirable.
- 1-2 years of professional-level experience required, preferably in security, law enforcement, or military.
- Valid Drivers' License and State Security Instructor/Trainer License (if applicable).
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the fire service, security industry, or law enforcement is highly desired.
- NRA Instructor Certification and Less-Than-Lethal Weapons Instructor Certification are a plus.
