Carnegie Mellon University's Police Department (UPD) is searching for Security Officers who are highly motivated and eager to serve the CMU community! Responsibilities
- Conducting watchperson rounds of university buildings and areas to ensure the safety and security of the campus, the assigned sector, and its occupants/users
- Reporting suspicious activity, persons, and conditions immediately
- Providing escorts to students, staff, and faculty members
- Providing general assistance to campus police officers
- Providing general information to university personnel and visitors
- Performing foot patrol on campus grounds in all weather conditions and temperatures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior work experience in a security-related role preferred
- Successful Background Check
- PA Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)
- Fitness for duty assessment and pre-employment medical exam, including drug and alcohol screening
